To air fry a 1 kg (2.2 lbs) roast beef, follow these steps:
Ingredients:
1 kg beef roast (sirloin, topside, or ribeye)
1 tbsp olive oil
1 tsp salt
1 tsp black pepper
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp onion powder
1 tsp dried rosemary or thyme (optional)
Instructions:
1. Preheat the air fryer to 200°C (400°F) for 5 minutes.
2. Prepare the beef: Pat it dry with paper towels. Rub with olive oil and season evenly with salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and herbs.
3. Cook the roast:
First 10 minutes: Air fry at 200°C (400°F) to sear the outside.
Reduce heat: Lower the temperature to 160°C (320°F) and cook for about 35–45 minutes, depending on your desired doneness:
Rare: 45°C (113°F) internal temp (~30 min)
Medium-rare: 50°C (122°F) (~35 min)
Medium: 55°C (131°F) (~40 min)
Medium-well: 60°C (140°F) (~45 min)
4. Rest the meat: Remove from the air fryer, tent with foil, and let it rest for 10–15 minutes before slicing.
Tips:
Use a meat thermometer to check doneness.
Let the roast reach room temperature (30 minutes) before cooking for even results.
Slice against the grain for tenderness.
